Hispanic Resource Council distributing grocery gift cards

Purchase $50 gift cards (WinCo and FoodMaxx are good choices) and donate the cards to the Hispanic Resource Council of Northern California. The Council will make sure they’re distributed to families who have been affected by immigration raids and/or ICE detentions.

Call 530-519-3118 to arrrange a pick-up or mail the cards to Hispanic Resource Council of Northern California, 1692 Mangrove Ave. No. 285, Chico, Calif. 95926.

Support for students from immigrant families

To learn more about the Butte College UndocuCenter, visit this page here.

Students from mixed-status families in this area can obtain assistance with financial aid by calling Student Success Specialist Brenda Rodriguez at the UndocuCenter at 530-895-2817.

There is also support available for undocumented students and students from mixed-status families at the Chico State Dream Center. Call 530-898-5818.

The Dream Center also offers consultations with immigration legal services provider the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA).
