Our story, “Debajito: a call to dance, a call to action,” has been recognized with a first place in Arts & Entertainment reporting in 2025 by the California News Publishers Association (CNPA).
The story on the Chico-based band by Editor Leslie Layton was recently entered into the statewide contest that recognizes outstanding coverage in a variety of divisions and categories. Layton’s story, posted in both English and Spanish, was inspired by the release of “Entremundos,” Debajito’s first album that was recorded with the help of Chico State Recording Arts students.
