McGuire will join the race for LaMalfa’s seat

State Senate President Pro Tempore Mike McGuire announced today (Nov. 13) his campaign for Congress in California’s District 1.

He and Chico’s Audrey Denney have emerged as two leading Democratic candidates in the race for this seat in the wake of the passage of Proposition 50.

McGuire, raised in Sonoma County, has received endorsements from prominent Northern California Democratic leaders. The district is currently represented by Republican Congressman Doug LaMalfa, who has held the seat since 2013.
