Los estudiantes indocumentados y los de familias con estatus mixto que necesiten asistencia legal y financiera pueden solicitar ayuda tanto en Chico State como en Butte College.

Where to find a hot meal or food supplies

Various nonprofit organizations and churches in Chico assist people experiencing food insecurity.

NorCal Resist Chico and the North State Shelter Team hold mutual aid distribution at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays at Our Hands Plaza. Melys Araujo-Jerez of NorCal Resist Chico said the distribution location will change soon and encourages people in need to check NorCal Resist Chico’s social media regularly for location updates.

Araujo-Jerez said people who want to help can donate directly to NorCal Resist Chico’s DonorBox or drop off items during the Tuesday distribution events.

“We encourage people to bring hot food if they would like to share as well! Or any food donations,” Araujo-Jerez said.

Donde se pueden encontrar alimentos gratuitos

Varias organizaciones sin fines de lucro y algunas iglesias de Chico ayudan a las personas que sufren inseguridad alimentaria.

Una distribución de ayuda mutua organizada por NorCal Resist Chico y North State Shelter Team se lleva a cabo los martes, de momento a las 5:30 p.m. en la Plaza “Our Hands”. Pero el lugar de distribución cambiará pronto, según Melys Araujo-Jerez de NorCal Resist Chico quien avisa a las personas necesitadas a consultar regularmente las redes sociales de NorCal para conocer las últimas novedades sobre la ubicación.

Araujo-Jerez dijo que las personas que quieran ayudar pueden hacer donaciones directamente a la DonorBox de NorCal Resist Chico o entregar artículos durante los eventos de distribución de los martes.

“¡Animamos a las personas a que traigan comida caliente si quieren compartirla! O cualquier donación de alimentos”, dijo Araujo-Jerez.
