Chico City Council to consider military equipment

At the upcoming March 3 City Council meeting, the panel will decide whether to approve the purchase of the military equipment requested by the police department. (See Community Calendar below for time and place.)

At a Feb. 23 public meeting, Police Chief Billy Aldridge explained to an audience the request to Council to approve the purchase of more than $1.3 million in military equipment. Aldridge said the department is still researching some items on the list and could decide not to purchase them even if they’re Council-approved.
