The Chico City Council is expected to confirm Gillian Haen, assistant city manager of Vallejo, as the next city manager at its July 7 meeting, following a seven-month recruitment process. Under the proposed employment agreement, Haen would earn an annual salary of $285,000, plus relocation and other benefits.
Chico City Manager Mark Sorensen will retire July 10 and Haen is expected to begin work in August. The Council will also consider appointing Assistant City Manager Erik Gustafson as interim city manager.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at 421 Main St.
