City Council to discuss — again — loitering and homelessness

When it meets this evening, the Chico City Council may begin the process of revising three anti-camping ordinances: two involving parks and one involving public spaces.

At the last Council meeting, the panel failed to approve a broad overhaul to anti-camping ordinances. Concerns over the potential loss of grant money led the Council to ask the city attorney to return with the ordinances separated so that each receives more consideration.

Council will also consider enacting a loitering ordinance to help bolster enforcement of its anti-camping ordinances.

City Council meetings are open to the public and take place at 6 p.m. at 411 Main St.
