Climate beat: More warm days

Data from UC Berkeley’s Cal-Adapt takes a “local climate change snapshot” to help visualize extreme heat events for Chico. The data shows a modeled historical average of four extreme heat days per year, while a moderate estimate shows a surge of up to 20 days of extreme heat per year in the 2035- 2064 period.

To qualify as an extreme heat day in Chico, the temperature has to climb above 104.5°F — Katherine Kihiczak
