At the time of publication of our story, Chico PD granted ICE, Border Patrol, access to its ALPR data, section §449.5.B.1 was giving the department express permission to share data from the Automated License Plate Reader system with out-of-state and federal agencies. SB 34 and SB 54 both place restrictions on such sharing.
