Public meeting on solar farm plan set

Cenergy Power, the Orange County-based company intending to build an approximately 1,200-acre solar farm off Skyway, will hold a public meeting from 6-7:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at Lakeside Pavilion in Chico.

Cenergy plans to submit its application to the California Energy Commission at the end of the month, circumventing the county permitting process.

What about some type of mitigation for the blue oak trees? A donation of blue oak trees to be planted in another location in Butte County? It’s great they reviewed the site for a less impactful location. The loss of the trees is still significant.
Is the developer of the adjacent property with houses being built also offering any protections for trees on that property, or they were all already removed when it was a golf course and a fire camp?
