City Council to look at sewer rates — again

The Chico City Council will discuss two sewer rate-related agenda items at its June 16 meeting.

Councilmembers will discuss alternatives to the increase that would raise the sewer rate by 180 percent in the first year.  In addition, the Council will consider a need-based sewer rate assistance program proposed by Councilmember Katie Hawley. The panel could decide whether to provide City staff policy direction, including on eligibility criteria, funding options and program design considerations.

The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at 421 Main Street.
