Recently I realized that I didn’t know where the ‘z’ key was on my computer’s keyboard. My memory’s been packing its things before leaving altogether, but I thought I could still type.
Then, when in reference to prison cops I tried to type lazy, I couldn’t. I couldn’t remember where the ‘z‘ key was. I hadn’t had to look for a letter on a keyboard since nineteen sixty, and now I had to figure out how to type a z.
